One of the most important services any kennel website should provide is information on the breed it represents. This is especially true with Siberians, since they are absolutely not the breed for everyone! Breed Information: Are You Ready For A Siberian?
The Siberian Husky is an athletic and unique dog, whose exotic look and loving temperament make it attractive to many. However, the Siberian is not for everyone. They are intelligent, independent dogs with wills entirely of their own. In order to help ease the burden placed on those involved in Siberian Rescue by making certain that the breed is right for you before you buy, we encourage you to learn as much as you can about the breed.
Oftentimes, responsible breeders will tell you that they talk more people out of Siberians than into them. While they are exotically beautiful, friendly, and athletic, they can also be prey-driven, destructive, and - of course! - prone to running away.
For the sake of the thousands of Siberian Huskies in rescue organizations all over the country, we encourage anyone thinking of owning a Siberian to do as much research on the breed as possible before they commit. With this in mind, we have put together a group of links that we hope will help you make an informed decision about our wonderful breed.
