Hood, Award of Merit at the 2017 Northern California SHC

 

Hood came to us from Lynn Loner in Colorado. His sire is our very own Shazam, and we are thrilled to have him. He is a very sweet, very handsome guy. He works hard in wheel on Jessica's main team, and will even lead if asked. In his first full show season, Hood picked up both his majors and an Owner-Handler Best in Show.

Hood finished his championship with a third major in June of 2016. He went on to pick up 5 Grand Champion majors in a row during the show season. After 6 months out of the ring to run and race during the winter, Hood came back out at the Northern California Siberian Husky Club specialty, where he won the Sled Dog class both days and received an Award of Merit under breeder-judge Carol Nash.

Hood completed his Grand Championship with a Best of Breed in spring of 2017, and went on to complete his Sled Dog (SD) title in early 2018.

Since moving to Alaska, Hood's most recent venture has been into the obedience ring. In 2020, he easily achieved his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title in the spring, and--after a summer of learning Rally obedience with Jessica--earned his Rally Novice (RN) title in three trials with three consecutive first-place finishes.

He is--quite literally--the bestest boy in the world who will do anything for his mom.
